Hayley Jay is a documentary photographer and visual artist from the UK.  Her imagery is concerned with youth, class and aesthetics often documenting the style and spaces of communities that she builds close connections to.  With an affectionate eye for intimacy and self expression, she creates compelling portraits partnered with their alluring environments. Having a fascination for nightlife, raves and tourism, she photographs spaces that have a suspension from the everyday, sharing liminal behind the scenes. Her ongoing collaborative project, ‘Have you ever kicked a dandelion?’(2023 - present) tracks her engagement with youth advocacy and sharing her camera with the young people she teaches.  

Hayley is from and based in Slough, on a gap year from her studies, she currently working as a secondary school teacher in special education. Following on from her Foundation Diploma at Central Saint Martins, Hayley is studying Fine Art Photography at The University of the Arts, London.
