Hayley Jay is a British documentary photographer and visual artist specialised in capturing ephemeral imagery. Her imagery shares intimate details of subcultures, British youth and music scenes. With an affectionate eye for others self expression, she builds an archive of compelling portraiture partnered with their alluring environments. With a fascination for nightlife, raves and tourism, she photographs spaces that have a suspension from the everyday, sharing liminal behind the scenes. Her photographs are playful and visceral and her practice tracks her engagement with communities that she builds close connections to. Hayley exhibits site specific photographic installations where she creates constellation layouts of her finished series.

Following on from her Foundation Diploma at Central Saint Martins, Hayley is currently studying Fine Art Photography at The University of the Arts, London.
